Arrived in Florida

We decided to rent a car as well as drive mine down here because I had more stuff I figured I should take instead of leaving at my ma's and I wasn't going to have time to get to my storage unit. Chris had heard at work that rental cars were available for one-way trips for $5/day so that being a steal, we took advantage. Loaded both cars and headed down (a day late!). We were supposed to leave last Saturday, but I just wasn't ready so we nixed the plan to stay overnight half-way and we left around 11:30am on Sunday and arrived in my friend's mom's driveway around 2am. This software is TERRIBLE - I cannot move pictures into any semblance of order so bear with me. The turtle statue and the railing cut-out was at the bird landing area. GETTING LOST can be fun! Earlier this week I attempted to attend a lecture I thought was being held at the GTM Research Reserve (http://gtmnerr.org/) only to discover I went to the wrong location. While I discovered the lecture o n their website, it was actually being held in another location too far for me to get to on time from the Reserve. It was a little disappointing initially, but I recovered from that disappointment very quickly and watched an interesting video on the Reserve and local ecosystem, talked to staff about looking for work and/or volunteer opportunities and walked around the displays inside and the surrounding area. Weekday Lunch Hour & Evening Sights near my office... just keep scrolling down - not even bothering to attempt a decent layout. This and the similar picture below are one of three that I had taken/edited to have fun creating a different final image. The third didn't post here, but the sky was actually very red unlike the post below. That one was a one-click edit "I feel lucky" option on the photo edit software and the reduced red tone is what was created. This guy was actually a little bit away from work and he, along with his buddies, was actually all over a dumpster behind the local Starbucks.
